The road to Laban Rata on Mount Kinabalu is around 4-6 hours, and offers amazing scenic views of Sabah’s Crocker Range mountains!

Arne and Laurens, from Belgium, climb to the Laban Rata plateau with their experienced mountain guide Bonnie. Along the Timpohon trail, the 3 reached the plateau with plenty of time to relax and explore the area at the 3272.7-metre altitude before their dinner at the Laban Rata resthouse. In their 2D1N climb to Laban Rata program, our Sabah Travel Centre experts recommended that they make the journey with walking poles to assist them on the ascent, and especially descent!

She has gained a lot of confidence as a dive leader, and she will continue her diver education on our next PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) too!

Pulau Tiga can be healthy for Sabah visitors!

The volcanic mud located at Pulau Tiga Island can be healthy for Sabah visitors, as it is believed to have therapeutic properties!

Pulau Tiga is also known as ‘Survivor Island’, as it was the very first location of the hit US television game show series of the same name, in which contestants had to face challenges to test their mental and physical stress. And the winner of the $USD1 million isn’t voted off the island within the 39-day period! Luckily, the participants had the mud volcano baths to immerse in for sore muscles after completing any physical challenge!

Downbelow’s Sabah Travel Centre guests, David and Rachel, experienced the strange sensation of relaxing in the natural mud baths and were surprised how much they enjoyed it!

Contact us for our travel experts to arrange a Pulau Tiga 1-day trip to add to your Sabah adventure!

Now that Sabah’s iconic national landmark, Mount Kinabalu, re-opens to the public, climbers are flocking to explore the World Heritage Site!

There’s a newfound fascination amongst visitors with everything about this very special area of the Crocker Range mountains. Our Sabah Travel Centre guests are no different, as they spent a day at Kinabalu National Park to spot wildlife and learn more about Borneo flora and fauna endemic to the park! The two opted for our promotional offer: 1-Day Kinabalu National Park and Poring Hot Springs program, which is a private tour and includes a private guide too. Meghan and Eric definitely made the most of this by spending as much or as little time as they wished at each of the attractions.

They will be back soon to climb to Laban Rata to witness the environmental changes as they climb to the 3272m altitude of the plateau where they will stay overnight.
