Recreational diving has never been so accessible, and so flexible to offer even the busiest of career-oriented clients options to upgrade and continue dive education with convenience.

Experiencing open water scuba diving can be achieved in a 1-day program, PADI Discover Scuba Diving, and to certify as PADI Scuba Diver as Miki has, it only takes one more day!

Her PADI Instructor Pablo is one of our dedicated and experienced members of our island team of professionals, who has impressed the value of Miki continuing her dive adventures. We’re sure to see Miki again in the near future to upgrade to the PADI Open Water, which will only take one day!

It was a perfect day for some dive training in the waters of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park as Tim Tam brought his PADI Divemaster interns Amylia and Rhys for the PADI Rescue Diver course.

The rescue diver course is part of their internship program in becoming a Divemaster and now that they have completed this part of their course, the diving community is a little bit safer now!

You can also sign up for the PADI Rescue Course as an independent course and boost your diving confidence! Entry requirements are you must be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization and have successfully completed a sanctioned course in primary care CPR and secondary care first aid within the past two years.

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program is a big ‘hit’ at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island, Borneo!

It’s a very hot day at our beach house and it’s making our clients anticipate getting into the cool water as soon as they can! Before they do though, they must complete the PADI Discover Scuba Diving brochure because it is a PADI standard requirement.

Once completed, our full time PADI IDC Staff Instructor Tim, and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Mel, delivers a briefing on the basics of equipment use and the simple scuba diving skills they must master before continuing to an open water dive experience. It’s necessary for our participants to be comfortable when performing the skill because it will indicate their readiness for diving to the maximum depth of 12 metres.

For more information on the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program, get in touch with one of our friendly and experienced Head Office staff at KK Times Square to discuss a suitable itinerary for you to discover the underwater world in Borneo!

One of our full time PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers (MSDT) Pablo, is conducting the PADI Scuba Diver course for a family of four of our clients at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC beach house on Gaya Island in Borneo.

The PADI Scuba Diver course is a fantastic route to procure a scuba diving license and it takes only 2 days to qualify, so it’s perfect for those on holiday with limited time availability.

Pablo will remind the family of student divers that their maximum depth is restricted to 12 metres, but all divers are encouraged to continue their education.

When the family are ready and willing to pursue more diving in their future, they will be most welcome to upgrade to qualify as a PADI Open Water Diver. By completing the remaining performance requirements between the PADI Scuba Diver course and the PADI Open Water Diver course, they will be able to explore up to 18 metres!

Downbelow extends a warm welcome to Shawn & Abegail from Singapore who will be spending the month with us completing their PADI Rescue & PADI Divemaster courses.

They have hit the ground running with Downbelow instructor Pablo wasting no time as he started on the PADI Rescue Course straight away.

Shawn and Abegail also took part in removing a discarded net within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park with the rest of the Downbelow crew and trainees.

They quickly found out that we are not just about diving, but most importantly conservation and loving the environment.

Welcome to Borneo Shawn and Abegail!

borneo diving birthday surprise

Karin and Hans spent the day at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre completing the PADI Scuba Diver Course in the lovely waters of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park Borneo.

Coincidentally, it was also Hans’ birthday so we helped Karin by ordering one of Hans favourite cakes and surprised him after their dive!

This might be his best birthday yet, celebrating it on a tropical island after a day of wonderful diving!

Happy birthday Hans from all of us from Downbelow!
