Downbelow’s resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann discusses with Go PRO interns Sophie and Martin on the variety of choices available to reach their goal of PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating!

PADI Specialty Courses are very popular amongst recreational scuba divers and encourage versatile experiences to develop confidence. In order for a PADI OWSI to teach these specialities, we must first learn them thoroughly and know how to teach them ourselves. The scuba diving industry recognizes the PADI MSDT as a rating that indicates a dive educator who is passionate about their professional development and has experieince and knowledge in fields of speciality training.

A student certified in five PADI Specialty Instructor courses and certified 25 student divers is qualified to apply to be PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer!

Sophie and Martin will find their 1-month Go PRO internship program less intense than their past Instructor Development Course, because they’re learning to teach their scuba diving passions!
