PADI Divemaster & IDC intern Chris Lewis joined in the fun for the day gaining valuable experience on continuing his education which will come in very handy for his upcoming Instructor Development Course in July.
It was great fun all round & the water is 31 degrees in the South China Sea!

It was a nerve-wrecking day yesterday for our PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) May 2013 candidates as the PADI Instructor Exam (IE) kicked off with the academics day.
All those weeks of preparation, workshops, skills presentation drills, book reading and group discussions come to a climax today when they individually prove that they are capable of being called a certified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
All the best to our candidates, Mr Noordin, Holly, Beth, Charlie, Michael, Mel, Frances and Vui How. They took a souvenir photo snap before the exam with their mentor and trainer PADI Platinum Course Director Richard Swann.

Due to popular demand, we have scheduled and confirmed an additional PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and Instructor Exam (IE) to this years schedule!
The new dates are for our next PADI IDC and IE are 11th July to the 28th of July 2013.

Downbelow’s May PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is well underway with Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann leading the Go-Pro Instructor trainer team at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre.
The candidates Vui How, Mel, Charlie, Francis, Holly, Beth & Mike are coming along just fine & working very hard to achieve their goal.
The PADI IDC program is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world covering every aspect of the industry including dive theory, academic presentations from both staff & candidates, in-water skill development & candidate teaching presentations in both confined & open water.
Rescue training & stamina is also covered developing the “all round” professional skills expected of the dive instructor.
Keep up the great work guys we look forward to celebratory drinks together after the IE.

The final phase of Downbelow’s May IDC prep program is in full swing with all our awesome candidates assisting on a mass PADI Open Water course consisting of 26 participants! Add a few more numbers in there and we could be gunning for some sort of record!
Actually the group is mainly made up of our young European adventurers who are here for their exciting Borneo Adventure program.
It is certainly a great experience for the PADI Divemasters who are soon to be PADI Instructors & at the same a great help to Downbelow’s team of instructors – their mentors.

The Downbelow 5-star IDC Go-Pro Instructor team led by resident PADI Platinum Course Director Richard Swann got started early by conducting the course preparation presentations to the current group of PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidates.
The classes are held at our comfortable KK Times Square HQ office’s classroom.
Don’t worry though it is still not to late to join our latest PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) program as the official start will be on the 18th of May so please do contact us should you be interested in becoming a PADI Instructor.
Downbelow Boat Captain and PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) candidate Mel is seen in a deep discussion on physics with Downbelow Staff & PADI IDC Instructor Paul Jones while on the boat on the way to the island office.
It seems that we spend so much time underwater that we use the little time that we have left on land (or in this case, on the boat!) to discuss and share our knowledge!
Mel will be joining the PADI IDC which will be held middle of this month, so he’s learning as much as he can from Paul.
